South of the Kingwood Country Club’s Island Course, Hurricane Harvey deposited several feet of sand that block the conveyance of the West Fork of the San Jacinto River. This is one of several such blockages that contributed to a 10-foot water surface elevation difference between bridges on opposite sides of the blockage during a flood earlier this year.
